Security
Last updated: 04/12/2024
At Novice, ensuring the security of your environment and data is our top priority. While we are currently in the beta phase, we believe that being in beta is no excuse for compromising on security. Protecting our users and their data is critical to us.
At its core, Novice is designed with a local-first approach. This means:
- LLM Communication and Processing
- Novice (currently in beta v0.0.1) does not host any LLM (Large Language Model) services.
- For LLM functionality:
- APIs provided by LLM providers (such as OpenAI or others) are used for direct communication.
- If you opt to use Meta's Llama model, the model will run locally on your device, ensuring complete control over your data.
- Local Embedding Process and Storage
- All embedding processes are performed locally on your device.
- Generated embeddings are stored locally, ensuring that sensitive data never leaves your environment.
We are committed to maintaining transparency and continuously improving the security of our product. If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to our team.
Thank you for trusting Novice.
